-HEIME-
by Arild Heitmann
HEIME is the result of Arild Heitmann`s exploration of the nature in his home area. In many ways you can say it is a result of 35 years spent in the remote mountains, valleys and forests in this small part of Arctic Norway.
We are taken on a journey through all seasons. From the cold grip of winter in January, through the warm endless summer nights and the exploding fall colours, before the dark approaches once again. Filled with simple, yet spectacular images, you are carried away into a place of mystery and beauty.
Showcasing 205 photos spread across 252 pages. 140 of these images have never been shown before. Printed on heavy fine art paper, this is a book that deserves a slow approach when looking through it.
From Trym Ivar Bergsmo`s foreword:
“HEIME makes us able to see and reflect upon our own childhood and memories from the familiar landscapes that shaped us and gave us a sense of identity and of belonging somewhere. We feel proud when someone sees what we have seen our whole lives, but not being able to put into words. Photographs can show us this landscape once again.”
